Lifeguards in South Tyneside have taken possession of a new 4×4 patrol vehicle worth nineteen thousand pounds following a special presentation at Roker beach in Sunderland.
The RNLI members were handed the keys to the new 4×4 vehicle which was kindly donated by the Civil Service Motoring Service which has helped to raise over half a million pounds in funds for the RNLI, an accreditation that was rewarded last year when they received the RNLI Lifetime Achievement Supporter Award for their amazing efforts over the years.
The 4×4 patrol vehicle will be an invaluable addition to the RNLI in the north of England and for the lifeguards who patrol three beaches in Tyne and Wear which were recently handed over to the service by local councils.
The RNLI are delighted with the donation of the 4×4 which will allow them actual beachfront presence for much longer periods which is an invaluable part of their ability to save lives.
