Could We See the Mini Brand Breaking New Ground
The Mini has once of the most famous backgrounds and pedigrees in the motor industry and now there is speculation that it is set to break even more new ground if stories are true about a 4×4 version of the car are proved to be true.
Rumours were sparked sometime ago but the latest reports also indicate that BMW, the new owners of the Mini brand have taken possession of the Countryman and ActiveE official trademarks.
Those of us who are old enough to remember the original Countryman vehicles will recall how it originated from the classic Austin Seven. The first Austin Seven Countryman rolled off the production lines back in 1960 and became a cult car of its time along with the Morris Mini Traveller.
There have also been talks about BMW launching a 4×4 Mini with the Crossman badge and many are hoping the new 4×4 Mini will be ready for official launch at this years motor show in Frankfurt.
